It's Great To Be A Bostonian! |
What a summer it's been so far! Greater Boston pulled out all the stops, hosting FIFA World Cup matches and welcoming fans from all around the world to our city. We celebrated America's 250th with our beloved Boston Pops fireworks lighting up the Charles, and just last week, Boston Harbor welcomed the Tall Ships as part of Sail250, a once-in-a-decade spectacle that hasn't graced our waterfront since 2017. Add in the Revere Beach International Sand Sculpting Festival (July 17–19), where world-class sculptors turned the shoreline into a work of art, and it's been a summer of pure Boston pride.
And it's only July! Can't wait for our beloved August traditions to keep the celebrations going, like the North End feasts. It really is great to be a Bostonian. |

Ron's Gourmet Ice Cream is Coming to Islington! |
Great news, one of our favorite ice cream shops is opening it's third location in Westwood! They kept us hanging for a bit, but it's official Ron's Gourmet Ice Cream is opening in Islington. With summer in full swing, the timing couldn't be better! To celebrate, I'm doing a little contest: reply and tell me your favorite ice cream flavor, and you'll be entered into a raffle for a $25 gift card to Ron's. Good luck, and get those taste buds ready! |

Delfino's will reopen, according to their facebook page!!! |
Some of my best meals with my favorite people happened at Delfino's. This Roslindale Square staple, open since 2001, has been the backdrop for so many good nights, the kind of place where the food was always excellent and the company even better. So it's with a little sadness that I'm sharing the news: Delfino's has closed temporarily for renovations.
The team shared the update on their Facebook page, thanking the community for years of support and asking loyal fans to hold onto their gift cards until they reopen. No date has been set yet, but they've pointed neighbors across the street to 753 South in the meantime. I'm going to miss walking through those doors. But I'm genuinely excited for their next chapter, and I'll be first in line the moment they reopen. Until then, see you soon, Delfino's. |

Outdoor Fun/Outdoor Safety |

Summer is in full swing, which means grills are firing up all over the neighborhood, here's a quick refresher on staying safe. Before cooking, keep your grill well away from your home's exterior, check propane hoses for cracks or leaks, replace a grease-caked drip tray, and only use lighter fluid made for grilling (never gasoline) if you are using coals. While cooking, let the grill heat up first to burn off residue, keep kids at a distance, keep a fire extinguisher nearby, and never walk away while it's on, if you smell gas, shut it off immediately.
Once you're done, let the grill fully cool before anyone gets close, then clean the grates with a pumice stone or bristle-free brush. Charcoal users should let ashes cool for at least 48 hours before disposing of them, wrapped in tin foil in a non-combustible container. And no matter what type of grill you use, always keep plenty of clearance from your house, garage, or shed. Stay safe out there! |

West Roxbury's single-family market held steady through Q2 2026, with prices essentially flat compared to a year ago. The median sale price landed at $885,000, up just 0.28% from Q2 2025 a sign the market is leveling off. Inventory stayed tight, with 32 homes for sale, down 11.11% year-over-year, while 47 homes sold, a 12.96% decrease from last year. Despite fewer transactions, sellers are still coming out ahead: homes sold for 104.2% of list price on average, a strong showing even with a slight -0.38% dip from last year. All told, Q2 paints a picture of a market that remains competitive for buyers, even as price growth cools and settles into a more balanced rhythm.

Westwood's single-family market showed strong, steady activity in Q2 2026, even as the median sale price dipped to $1,200,000, down 5.88% from Q2 2025. Given Westwood's wide range of home values, this shift likely reflects more moderately priced homes selling this quarter rather than a true decline in property values. Inventory remained tight, with 29 homes for sale, down 19.44% year-over-year, while 41 homes sold matching last year's pace exactly. Sellers continued to command strong prices overall, with homes closing at 102.5% of list price, up 1.09% from a year ago. Altogether, Q2 reflects a resilient Westwood market, with steady buyer demand and pricing strength holding firm despite the shift in median sale price.
