It’s an exciting time of year with schedules shifting, kids heading back to school, and the start of many fall activities. And yes, pumpkin spice everything is back! But let’s not rush into that just yet—I’m holding off a little longer before diving into the pumpkin craze.
This summer, I had the pleasure of exploring a few spots in and around our area, mostly day trips with a couple of overnight stays. Personally, I find September to be an ideal time to visit those popular summer destinations, especially if you’re an empty nester like me. The crowds thin out, the weather is still beautiful, and you can enjoy these places at a more relaxed pace.
As always, I have a few suggestions for you—whether you’re looking for new places to visit or thinking about your next move in real estate.
When it comes to finding the perfect place to live, it’s important to take your time. Whether you’re searching for your “forever home” or considering a lifestyle change that offers easier maintenance, the process is all about finding the right fit. How do you discover that ideal spot? Start by exploring—take some day trips, attend local fall festivals, and immerse yourself in different communities. Feel the vibe of each town and see if it resonates with you.
Once you’ve narrowed down your options, let’s talk. We can put a plan in place to make your vision a reality. Whether you’re ready to move or just starting to consider your options, I’m here to help. Give me a call, and we can explore your possibilities together. |

Late summer maintenance, what does your home need? |
|
|
Clean and Inspect Gutters: Remove leaves, twigs, and debris from gutters and downspouts to prevent clogs that can cause water damage. Inspect the Roof: Look for any loose or missing shingles, and check for signs of wear or damage that could lead to leaks during winter.
Seal Cracks: Inspect your home's exterior for cracks or gaps in siding, windows, and doors. Seal them to prevent drafts and pests. Service the HVAC System: Change filters and schedule a professional tune-up to ensure the heating system is ready for cooler weather.
Check the Chimney: If you have a fireplace, inspect the chimney for blockages and creosote buildup. Consider scheduling a professional cleaning. Trim Trees and Shrubs: Cut back any overgrown branches that could damage your home during storms or heavy snow.
Lawn Care: Aerate the lawn, fertilize, and reseed bare spots to keep the grass healthy as it prepares for winter dormancy. Inspect and Repair Driveways and Walkways: Fill in any cracks or holes to prevent them from worsening during the freeze-thaw cycle. |
